Get to know Get Active

Get Active is a small, family-run business based near the beautiful resort of Nidri, on the east coast of Lefkada.

Founded by Simon and Lucy Atkinson in 2012, Get Active grew from their love of the island and their passion for exploring the great outdoors. Having lived on Lefkada since 2005, they chose the island as the place to build their home and raise their family.

Cycling, hiking and discovering new places have always been a big part of their lives, and Get Active is their way of sharing that passion with visitors. Whether you’re looking to explore quiet country roads, discover mountain trails or simply experience a different side of Lefkada, they’ll help you get out there and enjoy it.

So while you’re on the island, why not get off the beaten track, see Lefkada from a different perspective and Get Active!

WHERE ARE WE?

We are based just outside the village of Nidri on the east coast of Lefkada (Lefkas).
We do not run a shop. Our base is a storage facility in the peaceful olive groves, which makes for a perfect starting point for our guided rides.
Ample parking and toilet facilities on-site.
FREE delivery of our rental bikes or collection from our base is available.
Guided rides & bike rentals are by appointment only, we take bookings by email & phone!

Guided Bike Rides

Our family friendly beginner mountain bike rides are available to book from May to September. These gentle leisure rides go through quiet olive groves, mountain villages and to the well-known Dimosari gorge and waterfalls. On our guided rides we provide a Nukeproof Scout hardtail mountain bike and helmet.

About The Island

Lefkas (or Lefkada) is one of the seven Ionian Islands in the west of Greece. It is undeniably renowned for its mountainous landscape, beautiful beaches and lush green vegetation. Over 70% of the island is mountainous providing a playground of tracks and trails for keen mountain bikers. The island is largely unknown and therefore has been able to keep its charm and traditions, so landscapes are rugged and tracks untouched. All this plus some of the best beaches in Greece coupled with famous kite-surfing and wind-surfing spots; the island attracts visitors from all over the world.

Lefkas is connected to the mainland by a small bridge so is easily accessible all year round. There are flights from all over Europe to the local airport of Preveza from May to October. The airports of Athens and Thessaloniki have scheduled flights all year round and are a 4 and 5 hour drive away. Chartered flights into the airports of Patras and Corfu from March to November offer a further option. Transfers can be arranged from all these airports any time of the year.

Tranquil bays, stunning beaches, cool olives groves and mountain villages to discover. Lefkas is a perfect destination to do as much or as little as you’d like!
